London is traced with layers of lines. The colourful web of tube maps weaving underfoot, the shifting skyline overhead, tracing the silhouettes of centuries, and most of all, the historical timelines that intersect at every corner. A single afternoon’s stroll can take you across cobblestone and concrete, past Roman walls, Norman fortresses, Tudor townhouses, Georgian squares, Victorian follies, and sleek, modern glass towers shining over the Thames. These contrasts should be stark, but London’s lines have been softened by long acquaintance.

Designed for fingering-weight yarn, the London Lines Shawl juxtaposes soft textures into a simple, wearable design. This triangular shawl features sections of sturdy garter stitch, smooth stockinette, and simple eyelets that play off each other like the city’s storied architecture. Playful tassels finish each point, adding a touch of contemporary movement to this timeless design.
