Lombard Circle Cowl
While our hearts and minds are saying it’s Spring, March has come in like the proverbial lion with snow, sleet, and icy temperatures. I think we all need a little something to brighten up the grey that’s out there, so here is a quick project that will do just the trick.
The Lombard Circle Cowl is a sweet little cowl that combines texture, stripes and color work, perfect for stash diving on a day that has you housebound.
It’s worked in fingering weight yarn and is designed to drape down onto itself to provide some extra warmth.
Knitted in the round from the bottom up, the easy to follow Open Check Stitch is followed by fun stripes and a band of color work.
You will need:
- 175 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color A
- 125 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color B
- 15 yards of fingering weight yarn in Color C
- US size 4 (3.5mm) 20” circular needle
- Removable stitch marker
- Yarn needle
The directions are written, and charts are included for the Open Check Stitch and the color work section.
The sample shown is worked in Highland Fingering by Cloudborn Fibers in Stormy Skies (Color A) and Oatmeal Heather (Color B), and Highland Superwash Sock Twist by Cloudborn Fibers in Coral (Color C).
Many thanks to Lisa for tech editing.
