These tunisian crochet mitts are inspired by Lolly Willowes, a novel by Sylvia Townsend Warner. The main character refuses to live her life according to the social expectations of early 19th century England. She buys a small cottage in the countryside and lives a self sufficient life with her farm animals, growing herbs in her orchard and becoming a sort of witch, that is, a capable, independent, smart woman. In the end, she also finds a very intriguing lover. I like to think of her carding and spinning yarn to crochet these strong, practical and at the same time “with character” mitts.

Sono per chi ha già un po’ di familiarità con la tecnica, non sono adatti alle principianti assolute. Sono disponibili in due taglie, dato che calzano molto aderenti, seguendo molto da vicino la forma della mano. Si lavorano velocemente e richiedono una sola matassa di Manos Silk Blend (o un filato equivalente).
