The scarf or cowl Lola is worked flat in a combination of Fisherman’s rib (brioche without yarn overs) and marled intarsia. Increases and decreases creates diagonal lines in the stitch pattern that are crossed over with the colour fields of the mareld intarsia. Once you get the techniques in place you are in for a relaxing knit!

YARN
Soft Lama Fine from Svarta Fåret (166 m / 50 g ≈ 182 yds. / 50 g), 2 colours, TOGETHER with scraps of lace, for example mohair or alpaca (approximately 200 m / 25 g ≈ 219 yds / 25 g).

SIZES
Cowl-(scarf): approx. 50-(15) cm / 19.75- (6)” circumference/width and 30-(170) cm / 11.75-(66.75)” high/long.

YARN AMOUNT COWL
Colour 1 (pear liqueur): 1 ball OR approximately 120 m ≈ 131 yds.
Colour 2 (prairie sand): 1 ball OR approximately 125 m ≈ 137 yds.
AND approximately 25-30 g lace yarn in optional number of colours.

YARN AMOUNT SCARF
Colour 1 (prairie sand): 2 balls OR approximately 220 m ≈ 241 yds.
Colour 2 (pear liqueur): 2 balls OR approximately 235 m ≈ 257 yds.
AND approximately 45-50 g lace yarn in optional number of colours.

YARN OPTIONS
Lama, alpaca or camel yarn with similar weight, or other soft sport weight yarn with drape together with scraps of lace yarn.

GAUGE
17 sts x 42 r = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” with 4,5 mm (US 7) needle in Fisherman’s rib (brioche without yarn overs) in main yarn + lace, worked flat, un-stretched and blocked.
NOTE! In Fisherman’s rib you count every knit stitch as two rows.

NEEDLES
4,5 mm (US 7) straight/circular needle.
