The ears and tail are picked up and knit on to the head and body. The broom is worked from the top-down in one-piece.

Barrett Wool Co. Home Fingering Weight (100% American Wool; 370 yards per skein); 1 skein each in Peppercorn (charcoal), Bear (brown), Picket Fence (white) and Fig (purple). Small amounts of each of the colors were used for the samples.
