I learned something after having twins last year: babies are crazy-messy. I wasn’t quite prepared for the massive amount of burp cloths, washcloths, dishcloths, and wipes that were required to keep things under control. And a lot of the cloths that I had were bigger than they needed to be- I just needed a little bit of somethin’ here and there (and also here… and don’t forget about there too) to tidy up. Hence the Little Washies. Obviously Big people are messy too- so don’t feel like you gotta wait around for one of your friends to pop out a baby in order to make these. They are as practical as can be with their own basket to keep them organized- anyone could use a set.

Materials
• For the basket you will need about 230 yards (210m) of a cotton worsted weight yarn (CYCA #4). I used 1 skein of Bernat Handicrafter DeLux Cotton in color “Rustic Gray” 236yds (215m)/142g (5oz) per skein. Note: when crocheting the Basket the yarn is held double for extra stiffness.
• You will need about 450 yards of a cotton worsted weight yarn (CYCA #4) to make enough Little Washies to fill up the basket (about 24). I used 2 skeins of Bernat Handicrafter DeLux Cotton: 1 skein in color “Paprika” and 1 skein in “Seaspray” 236yds (215m)/142g (5oz) per skein.
• Size I/9 (5.5mm) crochet hook (or whatever size will give you the correct gauge- see below)
• Yarn needle
• Removable stitch marker (for
basket only)
