Pattern Notes
The blanket body is knitted first, starting from a provisional cast on. Once the body is complete, the first lace edge is worked as a knitted-on border. Finally, the second lace edge is worked as a knitted-on border over the stitches provisionally cast on.
As the recommended yarn is hand-dyed, it is a good idea to work with 2 skeins at the same time throughout the body of the blanket, working 2 row stripes so that any small differences in dyelot are disguised. The two edging strips can be worked from a single skein of yarn for all but the largest size.
To adjust the length of your blanket, work more or fewer rows in pattern, ending with a WS row 4, 8 or 12, keeping in mind that the blanket edging will add 14cm [5½in] to each end of the blanket, making a total 28cm [11in] additional length.
The pattern is provided in both written and charted forms.
