Little Pines
I love this simple color work hat design I did for Our Back 40 alpaca yarn company.
Be sure to note that the sport weight yarn from Our Back 40 sport weight is more like a fingering weight.
For the sample I held the yarn doubled throughout and it knit up to a worsted weight gauge!
Any worsted weight yarn could be substituted to create the same hat. You could also use fingering weight yarn held doubled to get the same gauge.
You would need about 100 yards of both a Main Color and a Contrast Color (although less of the CC) in worsted weight yarn to knit this hat.
This is a unisex hat! It fits children, teens, and adults. It is very stretchy.
You could add a pom-pom to the top and the ribbed brim could be worn cuffed for a more traditional beanie or un-cuffed for a slouchier-style hat.
Enjoy!
