Little Lulu was named in a contest. I posted an unfinished photo of the sweater on Instagram (which got photobombed by my toilet) and the name Little Lulu won.

Little Lulu is like a pretty sweatshirt that you knit. Designed to be worn with 4-8” / 10-20.5 cm of positive ease and cropped. See schematic at left. Wear with yoga pants, jeans, or just underwear during your pandemic Zoom call, it is versatile.

I fell in love with Brooke from Fully Spun’s emerald green DK (called Lush and the link is here) and had to have an every day sweater out of it. It was so squishy and emeraldy I couldn’t stop until I had made something wonderful and snuggly that set off my pink glasses!

Sharon From Security also photobombed one of my photos as you can see; it seems to be the story of this sweater. She says that those are also her paw prints patterned in the sweater but she’s just making stuff up to flex on Jean from I.T. That blue sweater was made in Miss Babs Yowza DK in Chirp. Link for yarn is here or you can use the larger Yowza skeins if they work with your yardage.

Little Lulu is designed to be worn with 4-8” / 10-20.5 cm of positive ease; pick the size that is closest between 4 and 8” / 10 and 20.5 cm larger than your actual bust measurement. If you fall between sizes, it’s best to go down a size. Shown in Size 2 with 6” positive ease.

If you wish to make it longer you will want to buy a bit more yarn. There is a schematic in the pattern to the left.

Construction
LLL is knit in the round from the bottom up with the eyelet pattern in front and back. At the underarms, you switch to working back and forth, completing the front and back separately, and then joining with a 3 needle bindoff at the top (which is EASY - don’t be intimidated and there is a video link.) You then pick up and knit the sleeves in the round from the top down. There is not top collar to do - it is already done!

Budget Options
You don’t need a super soft drape for this; it is a forgiving pattern.
