This adorable set of forest friends includes a bunny, squirrel, bear, fox and a girl. Each critter has a set of overalls and a dress featuring different stitch pattern details. The bunny’s clothes have garter stitch edging. The squirrel’s clothes have an eyelet trim. The bear’s clothes have seed stitch details. The fox’s clothes feature ribbing. The girl’s clothes have picot edging.

Designed to use Animation yarn packs, the whole set can be knit with one pack.

Pattern notes:
-The pattern set includes directions to make a bunny, squirrel, bear, fox and girl. It also includes directions for overalls and a dress for each critter.
-Most pieces are worked in the round, except ears on the critters and bibs on the clothes.
-Purl stitches are worked on the heads of the animals to mark placement for ears during finishing. Purl stitches are also used on the bodies to mark the locations of the arms and legs.
-When stuffing the arms and legs of the critters, use small amounts of stuffing and something like the eraser end of a pencil to push it in.
-C2 is used for the girl’s hair in the sample, but there was just barely enough to finish. The directions say to cut slightly shorter strands than used in the sample, to ensure there is enough yarn for the hair. Using C4 would be an even safer option as there is more of that color left after knitting the animals.
-If desired, the buttons can be left off. After working the i-cord strap, instead of transferring the last stitch to a crochet hook, bind off. Then sew the straps in place at each end.
-After the main pattern, a step-by-step photo tutorial is included for adding the hair to the girl.
