A frothy lightweight cowl worked in luxurious laceweight wool, just perfect for spring layering.
Worked from the bottom up and in the round, gradually reducing needle sizes creates a subtle cone shaped cowl that drapes beautifully around neck and shoulders.
Instructions for two sizes included in the pattern – a wider cowl for voluptuous draping and a smaller circumference for petite shoulders or a those who prefer a closer fit.

Yarn requirements
Approx. 415 (485)m/453(530)yds lace weight/2ply yarn.

Yarn substitution
Any lace weight yarn would work well - wool or alpaca yarns would create a warmer cowl for transitional seasons; cotton or silk lace yarns would be perfect for summer evenings.

Gauge
20.5sts x 23rows = 10cm over lace pattern on largest needles.
A note on gauge – gauge is not essential but be aware that it will affect the final measurements AND the amount of yarn used

Needles & Notions

• 4.5mm 60 (80)cm circular needle (or size needed to get gauge)
• 4mm 60 (80)cm circular needle (or one size down from gauge needle)
• 3.5mm 50 (80)cm circular needle (or two/three sizes down from gauge needle)

Interchangeable needle tips would be very useful for this project – you would only need to change the needle tips instead of knitting onto a new cable.
