Little elephant
This elephant was in UK Knit Now magazine issue 56 as a part of baby mobile. If you have the issue, you have this pattern already.
This is the knitting instructions to make little elephant.
The finished size is about 8cm.
Materials
Please feel free to use any oddment of yarn in your stash
• 10g pale pink, cream, grey or any colour of your choice in DK (8-ply)
• Small amount of 4-ply felted tweed
• Small amount of dark brown or black DK, small amount of fine brown yarn (2-3 ply), or take a few strands from DK
Equipment
• A pair of 2.75mm (US 2) DPN knitting needles (DPNs are to make i-cord. The pattern is knitted flat and sewn up at the end.)
• A chenille or tapestry needle with a large eye and a fairy sharp point
• Scissors
Knitting skill is basic knit, purl, k2tog, kfb (knit into the front and back loop to increase one stitch).
The tail is made in i-cord. The method is explained in the pattern.
