Crocheting these tiny crabs is really addictive! After the first one you can’t resist crocheting an handful of crabs with little claws.

You will need

• Sport weight cotton yarn (suggested yarns: DMC Natura Just Cotton, Silke Estate) (50 g approx. 130 m) in Orange
• 2.5 mm (US B/1 or C/2) crochet hook
• 2 beads (about 2,5 mm / 0,1 in)
• black cotton thread
• tapestry needle
• fiberfill for stuffing

Pattern notes
The little crab is formed by 2 pieces (back and belly)then sewn together. The pattern is worked using the amigurumi method. Work in a continuous spiral without closing off the rounds with a ss. It may help to use a stitch marker in the last stitch of each round, moving it up as you work.
You can follow the written instructions or the chart.
Tension
To make this amigurumi it isn’t necessary to use the recommended yarn and crochet hook. Using a larger crochet hook, and a suitable yarn, the amigurumi will be larger preserving the same proportions.

Measurements
Working with a 2.5 mm crochet hook and the suggested cotton yarn the finished amigurumi will be approx. 5 cm / 2 in diameter.

Realizzare questi buffi granchietti può creare dipendenza! Una chela dopo l’altra ci accorgeremo di aver uncinettato un gruppo di piccoli granchi.

• uncinetto da 2,5mm
• perle nere da 5 mm per gli occhi
• cotone nero per cucire occhi
• ago e ago da lana
• imbottitura sintetica

Misure
Lavorando con l’uncinetto e il cotone suggerito nei materiali, il diametro del granchio (zampe e chele incluse) sarà di circa 5cm.

Note
Lo schema si esegue utilizzando il “metodo amigurumi”, si lavora in una spirale continua senza chiudere il giro con la maglia bassissima. Può essere d’aiuto utilizzare un marcapunto per segnare l’ultimo punto del giro e spostarlo mentre si lavora. Il granchio è formata da due pezzi (dorso e pancia), lavorati separatamente e poi cuciti con l’ago da lana. È possibile seguire solo le istruzioni scritte o lo schema grafico, entrambe sono complete; per la realizzazione della pancia, che comprende le zampe e le chele, lo schema può risultare più intuitivo e semplice da seguire.

Campione
Per eseguire questo amigurumi non è indispensabile utilizzare il filato e l’uncinetto consigliato. Utilizzando un uncinetto più grande ed un filato adatto l’amigurumi finale sarà più grande mantenendo le stesse proporzioni.
