Lithophane Leeae
In collaboration with SR Pepper Fiber Studio and Grandma’s Spinning Wheel’s Mystery Prescription Subscription, this third design and the yarn color is inspired by the pink-winged moth Lithophane leeae, a beautiful new species discovered in 2009 in the Chiricahua Mountains of S Arizona.
This shawl starts out with a sideways worked, 2 color garter stitch triangle, then finished by picking up stitches and adding a beautiful lace section. The lace pattern stitch is by Naomi Parkhurst.
Pattern is written for fingering and worsted weight yarn, however it is easily adaptable to other weights and sizes.
