Linway is a relaxing, reversible knit that gives you the chance to play with four of your favorite colors.

This fingering-weight shawl begins with a simple garter-stitch triangle. When the triangle is deep enough, short-row wedges are added on both sides, outlined with delicate eyelets. These wedges add color and give the shawl a generous wingspan, ideal for wrapping up in. Linway finishes with an eye-catching knitted-on lace edging that is a breeze to memorize.

So have fun choosing your palette, and treat yourself to carefree knitting with striking results!

Fully written instructions are provided. For the lace edging, a row-by-row table makes it especially easy to see the different sections of each row.

Also included is an optional page of shawl diagrams where you can experiment with different color combinations.

Blocked Dimensions:

Wingspan: 72”/183 cm
Depth: 20”/51 cm

Gauge:

In garter stitch, 18 sts and 40 rows = 4”/10 cm after blocking

Note: Gauge is not critical, but yardage requirements and finished measurements will vary if your gauge differs.

Approximately 865 yds/791 m fingering-weight yarn, such as Cloudborn Highland Superwash Sock Twist, in Colors A-D:

345 yds/316 m in Color A (shown in Grey Heather)
102 yds/93 m in Color B (shown in Sky Blue)
118 yds/108 m in Color C (shown in Pool Blue)
300 yds/274 m in Color D (shown in Dark Teal)

US size 5/3.75 mm circular needle (or size necessary to achieve gauge), preferably at least 40”/102 cm in length
4 Stitch markers (one in a contrast color)
1 Removable stitch marker
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Pins for blocking
