Note on Gauge: Pattern states that half double crochet rib can be difficult to measure, and suggests measuring gauge with piece lying on flat surface without stretching. There is also a lace pattern gauge: 20 double crochet = 4 inches in lace pattern; one 4-row repeat of lace pattern = 1.5 inches.
