Lineal Wrap
This generous wrap is worked in Tunisian crochet. I wanted to keep the Tunisian crochet stitches simple while exploring some dramatic colour changes. I’ve used two Scheepjes Whirls at the same time, one starting on the outside of the Whirl, one starting from the inside, with a contrasting Whirlette to form the dramatic central stripe. There is a honeycomb stitch border at the top and bottom of the wrap to stop any curling. The wrap starts at the bottom edge and is worked up. The wrap is finished with an edging worked with a standard crochet hook. Pattern is written in English and uses UK terms.
Lineal Wrap - Materials
Yarn: Scheepjes Whirl (60% cotton, 40% acrylic) 215-225g/1000m
2 balls x shade 784 Watermelon Hell Raiser
Scheepjes Whirlette (60% cotton, 40% acrylic) 100g/455m
1 ball x shade 892 Crushed Candy
Hook: 5.5mm Tunisian crochet hook with an extension cord.
4.5mm standard hook for the edging
You may find stitch markers useful when working the edging.
Lineal Wrap - Dimensions

Ch - chain
St(s) - stitch(es)
Tps - Tunisian purl stitch
Tks - Tunisian knit stitch
Trs - Tunisian reverse stitch
Tss - Tunisian simple stitch
Yo - yarn over
RS - right side of work
Honeycomb stitch - alternating Tss and Tps. First row start Tps 1, Tss 1, repeat across. Second row, start Tss 1 (above the previous Tps), Tps 1 (above the previous Tss), repeat across. These two rows are repeated.
Bind off - work a slip stitch row after completing last Return Pass. Insert hook into next stitch, yo and pull yarn through both loops on hook. Repeat for each stitch until one loop remains. Cut yarn and draw through loop to fasten off.
Lineal Wrap - Pattern Notes
Pattern rows are Forward Pass instructions only. Follow each row with a Return Pass.
Return Pass instructions: Ch1, yo, pull through next 2 loops on hook; repeat from until 1 loop remains on hook.
Instructions in brackets are worked the number of times specified eg x2.
Instructions marked by an asterisk * are worked once, and then repeated the specified number of times.
Colour change mid row - on the Forward Pass work up to the end of the current colour, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over in new colour and continue. On the Return Pass, work as normal until one loop of the current colour is left on the hook, yarn over in the new colour and continue the Return Pass.
Colour change at the end of the Return Pass - when you have two loops left on the hook, drop the old colour, pick up the new colour and pull through the last two loops. Use the new colour for the next Forward Pass.
For this wrap you have two Whirls in the same shade. Whirl A is started from the outside, Whirl B is started from the inside. Each Whirl sits either side of the contrasting central stripe.
