This sweater is more than just knitwear — it’s a story of memory, patience, and a little rebellion. The grey merino wool was bought on a recent trip to Barcelona, while the blue yarn has been with me for almost 20 years. Back then, I dreamed of my mother turning it into a fisherman’s sweater, just as I imagined it.
She was a gifted maker, but creative compromises were never our strong suit. If she followed her instincts, the result was beautiful. If I had a vision, neither of us was fully satisfied. So, years later, I taught myself to knit — and learned to trust my own hands.
This sweater is a tribute to her, to the times we tried to create together, and to the way I’ve learned to create on my own. Every stitch carries the imprint of love, persistence, and the joy of making something exactly as I imagined it.
