This pattern is written to accommodate 3 different yarn weights and is my attempt to duplicate a hat worn by one of the characters on the television show The Librarians.
Sample 1: Plymouth Encore Worsted
75% Acrylic, 25% Wool
200 yd/182 m/ (3.5 oz, 100 g)
approximately 80 g
Size 7(4.5 mm) 16”/40 cm circular and double point
needles (or preferred style for circular knitting)
Size 5(3.75 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle
Sample 2: Done Roving Milkweed DK
100% Superwash Merino
350 yds/319 m/ (4 oz/113 g)
approximately 72 g
Size US 5 (3.75 mm) 16”/40 cm circular and double point needles 16”/40 cm circular needle
US 3 (3.25 mm)16”/40 cm circular needle or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle
Sample 3: Poste Yarn Patina light fingering
75% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon, 10% Tencel
478 yds/437 m (4.2 oz/119 g)
approximately 57 g
held together with
KnitPicks Aloft Lace Weight to create Sport Weight
260 yd/238 m (25 oz/.9 g)
approximately 21 g
Size US 4 (3.5 mm) 16”/40 cm circular and double point needles 16”/40 cm circular needle
US 2 (3.0 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle or 2 sizes smaller than gauge needle
Stitch marker to indicate beginning of round
Tapestry needle
Optional: stitch markers to separate pattern repeats
Gauge:
22 (25, 28) st = 4”/10 cm in Lindy lace stitch
slightly stretched on larger needle.
The pattern is fully written but also includes charts for the main body lace and crown decreases.
