Linda's Lace Shawl
This pattern is available
for $5.00.
This simple pattern plays best with a yarn that has a slight halo. Alpaca works very well. I designed it for my mother, to keep her warm in cold Maine winters.
You can expand it at will, by increasing either the number of repeats per row (adding 11 stitches per repeat), or by increasing the number of rows by as little as 2 rows, or as many as you’d like until you run out of yarn. While I admit math is not my forte, but it my calculations suggest that adding a repeat in width will take an additional 75 yards or so of yarn. I wouldn’t rely on this because the other way I tried to total that indicated it would take 220 yarns (which we know is too much).
