The easiest pattern to learn, resulting in the most stunning triangle shawl, with a strong spine and gorgeous honeycomb texture.
The pattern uses the Tunisian honeycomb stitch (alternating classic Tunisian simple stitches and purl stitches) to create two mirrored panes that grow on the bias and create a light curve on the top side of the shawl. This makes the shawl drape nicely on your shoulders.
The honeycomb stitch is less easy to make than the usual Tunisian stitch, but it has the advantage that it doesn’t make the fabric curl, so you can wear your shawl right after finishing it, without having to block it.
Skill level
Intermediate or enthusiastic beginner - you need to know how to make Tunisian simple stitches, Tunisian purl stitches and Tunisian full stitches. You also need to know how to make regular crochet popcorn stitches.
