This pattern is knit top down, in the round. It is seamless with 3/4 length sleeves which can be worn full length due to the “dropped” sleeve /armhole.

It is indented to be worn with a significant amount of positive ease around the bust. The bust measurement is also dropped— along with the sleeves—so the bust measurement indicated doesn’t actually reflect the circumference around the actual bust.

I’ve noticed quite an 80’s revival going on. Perhaps it was going on when I started the project, I was just too dense to notice, but it sure is going on now. It was only after finishing this project the other day that I realized how on-trend it currently is. Maybe it was the trends I was ignoring while pregnant that secretly seeped into my mind and grew into inspiration. This sweater took the better part of a year. Yes, really, and No, not really. I started the pattern, started knitting, hated it and ripped it all back out, after working through the entire yoke. I did this not once, not twice, but 5 times. Yes, really. It just never felt right. It put it down for months, and came back to it at the beginning of January. Now, February first I honestly couldn’t be happier with it. I bought the yarn at StitchesWest in 2011. This was actually the first time (that I can remember) working with a single-ply yarn. Let me pause for a moment to reflect on how little fun it is to rip out entire skeins of yarn when you’re not happy, and they’re single ply.

In the end the silk and wool, and soft single ply of this yarn created a perfect result. This sweater could look like a sweatshirt, but because of its delicate sheen, and beautiful even-ness post blocking it looks, and, more importantly feels, utterly luxurious. But what to call it?

My husband and I watched Adventure Land the other night and after taking the photos of this sweater I felt like it had a strong connection to the character Lisa P. Yes, I am well aware that the movie took place in the summer, but if she had a sweater, I bet she would have had this one, or at least one just like it. So, I have given it the proud name of the sexy actress who has helped—at least a little—to bring back the 80’s revival we’re seeing so much of, today.
