“Help! I’ve dropped a stitch!” is the horrified cry of every new knitter. We learn to fear this catastrophe and do everything to avoid it. This pattern lets you explore what happens when you drop stitches on purpose.

Combining the reversible knitting principles of Cecelia Campochiaro with a few well-placed drop stitches, Let It Run is a completely reversible, lightweight, rectangular wrap that is perfect for a chilly summer evening or to ward off aggressive air conditioning. It is knit from end to end using a simple, easily memorized lace pattern. The stitches are dropped as the last pattern row is knit, and then comes the fun of letting the stitches run all the way down to the beginning. You might be surprised to find out how much encouragement is required to get the stitches to run all the way. The stitches on either side of the dropped stitches are worked through the back loop to keep things tidy, and a garter border on all sides provides clean edges.
