Lépi is a shawl knit with a thick fingering, 7 colors in total : 1 light variegated MC and 6 gradient CC. It has a rectangular shape, like a wrap, and it is worked end to end. The simple lace and garter stitch make this shawl a fun and quick knit !

For your information, the shawl presented on the pictures measured 1m70x 40 cm before strong wetblocking, 2m10 x 50 cm (without fringes) after.
2 variations are available to use the yardage as far as possible according to your gauge, way of knitting and wishes.

This design has been created in collaboration with the sweet Angélique, aka Crème de Laine, based in Canada.

Material :

• Thread : fingering. 390 meters of MC (main color - garter stitch sections). 84 meters for each CC (contrasting color). About 900 meters in total.
For my version : 1 skein Desserts de Disney, Thé avec Alice au pays des Merveilles color (390m/115g) and 6 minis with a gradient (80% merinos, 20% gold stellina, 84m/25g).

• Needles 3,75 mm (or the size needed to obtain the gauge). Choose 3,5 mm if you does not have this size.

Gauge :
1 repetition of the chart : 10 cm height x 16 cm width washed, blocked and dry. It is very important to obtain this gauge if you want to get the right size. Your gauge must used 4 grams of CC. If you use more, use smaller needles or check the variations.

I strongly recommand you to check the gauge before beginning the shawl, especially if you got this pattern with Crème de Laine’s kit, CC threads have just the right amount of yardage, no more no less, be aware.

Lépi est un châle tricoté en fingering épaisse, 7 couleurs au total : 1 CP variée et 6 couleurs de CC en dégradé. C’est un châle rectangulaire, type étole, qui se travaille d’une extrémité à l’autre. Dentelle simple et point mousse au RDV pour un châle rapide et amusant à faire !

A titre informatif, le châle présenté sur la photo avant blocage faisait 1m70x 40 cm, après un blocage énergique (bien épinglé à plat) 2.10m x 50 cm (sans les franges).

2 variantes supplémentaires sont disponibles pour utiliser au mieux le métrage disponible selon votre façon de tricoter et vos envies.

• Aiguilles 3,75 mm (ou la taille nécessaire pour obtenir l’échantillon). Préférez les 3,5 mm si vous n’avez pas cette taille.

Échantillon :

1 répétition du diagramme : 10 cm de haut x 16 cm de large lavé, bloqué et sec. Il est très important de respecter cet échantillon si vous voulez obtenir la même taille que le modèle original. Votre échantillon doit utiliser 4 g de CC. S’il en utilise plus, descendez d’un quart de taille d’aiguille ou vérifiez les variantes proposées.

Je vous conseille fortement de faire l’échantillon si vous avez acquis ce patron avec le Kit de Crème de Laine, afin de vérifier quelle variante ira le mieux avec votre façon de tricoter.
