notes
Shawl is worked from the bottom (long edge) up. Beginning in the pattern stitch with the largest needle and a stretchy cast on, the shawl becomes smaller first by changing needle size, then by working a decrease in the final rows of the shell pattern. Then, in garter stitch, the shawl decreases in a circular fashion until it reaches the neck edge.
Wet-blocking (as opposed to steam-blocking) is recommended to achieve a nicely finished shape.
skills required
German twisted cast on, increasing, decreasing.
