Lemon Tea Coaster
This lovely, lemon-patterned coaster was created for Little Skein in the Big Wool’s March subscription box. It was inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice and stands ready for a cup of tea in your best china.
The lemon motif on the coaster is created with slipped stitch cables. Because of the elongated slipped stitches used in the cables, it is a perfect introduction to cabling without a cable needle if you’d like to try a new technique. The coaster is finished with an applied i-cord edging for a polished and square look.
Size: 5 inches square
Yarn: The sample is knit in Little Skein’s new House Blend fingering weight yarn in the colorway “Tea at Pemberley.” Each coaster requires approximately 30 yards, or 7g.
To knit this coaster, you need to be able to:
-
knit
-
purl
-
decrease stitches
-
follow instructions to work an i-cord
-
cable
