Lemma
In Triplicate is a study in threes: three designers collaborating to design three accessories each, using the same three colors in different ways. There are nine designs total: three for the head, three for the hands, and three for the neck (one of each thing in all three colors, one in two colors, and one in a single color). Knit from the full collection to maximize your yarn and make some matching things!
In math, a lemma, or “helping theorem,” is like a stepping stone. The little pebbles in this project form a safe little path around the hat. Who knows where a good stepping stone can lead?
Yarn: approximately 150 160,180 yards total sport-DK weight yarn, in two colors. I used Blue Moon Fiber Arts Gaea Sport, colorways Lover’s Leap (HOT pink, color A, 65 70, 80 yards), & Mica (grey, color B, 85 90, 100 yards).
I used a needle one size smaller for the brim, to get a snug fit.
Sizes/Finished Measurements: Small/youth medium, large: 18 20, 22“ circumference, 9” tall, from cast-on edge to top. Height is easily adjustable — it’s noted in pattern where to adjust your height (if you want to add a pom-pom, adding approximately 1” extra height would look good). Hat is shown in medium size.
The In Triplicate collection is a collaboration between Shannon Squire, Star Athena, Lee Meredith, and Blue Moon Fiber Arts; photography is by Lee Meredith; drawings and doodles are by Star Athena; graphic design is by Lee; tech editing was done by Polly of Butterscotch Press.
