Leannán means sweetheart or darling in Scottish/Irish Gaelic, which I found to be the perfect description for this shawl. The slipped and cabled stitches look like hearts. I love how the variation in the yarn really shows with the slipped stitches.

Two of my more popular patterns are the Leannan Cowl and the Leannan Socks, so I’m happy to introduce the Leannan Shawl! Leannán Shawl is a fingering weight pattern that uses a slip stitch cable that is fun to knit and easy to memorize. The shawl is a triangle shape that has the cable run down one side and garter across the rest of the body. A cozy and squishy shawl for for your friends, your family, your lover, your Leannán.

US 5 (3.75mm) / 32” (80 cm needle) or longer

Tapestry needle
Stitch Marker
Scissors
Cable Needle

GAUGE
20 stitches and 27 garter bumps = 4 inches (10 cm) in blocked garter

Adjust needle size to obtain correct gauge if necessary!
