Leaflette
Even more beautiful than its sibling Scarflette, Leaflette is a perfect first step into the world of long triangular pieces of knitted art. Leaflette is also an easier and more delicate version for everyone needing such shawls in their lives.
Also, if you have purchased Scarflette before, or if you add both in the cart now, they will cost $11 together. The promo runs indefinitely. No code needed. Happy knitting!
The pattern has been created 100% by me for you - from the first drop of dye in the pot to the last stitch. It’s designed with a fabulous Thibetanus in mind which you can get through my small online shop Cecily Grove Yarns.
Size
Regular: approx. 203 cm/80” long and 37 cm/14.75” deep at center.
Small: approx. 140 cm/55” long and 25 cm/10” deep at center.
Note: Throughout the pattern, any information or instructions that differ between sizes are presented as Regular Small.
Yarn
Regular:
1 skein of Thibetanus by Cecily Grove Yarns (65% merino, 20% silk, 15% yak; 480m/525y per 120g). Shown in colorway Monarch (gold sample).
Or 2 skeins of Piper by Quince & Co. (60% merino, 40% mohair; 279m/305y per 50g). Shown in colorway Sweetwater (blue sample).
Small:
1 skein of Merlen by Cecily Grove Yarns (90% merino, 10% linen; 360m/394y per 100g). Shown in colorway Inez (pink sample).
or approx. 480 260 m/525 285 y of any other light fingering yarn which gives you the correct gauge.
Needles
3.25 mm/US #3 circular needle (60 cm/24” long), or size needed for gauge.
Other
tapestry needle for weaving
Gauge
25 sts and 32 rows = 10 cm/4” in pattern, measured flat after wet blocking. One pattern repeat (14 sts x 16 rows) measures approx. 6 cm/2.5” wide by 5 cm/2” tall.
Note: Depending on your yarn choice and the size you’re knitting, gauge may be crucial on this project. The gold sample used an entire 120g skein. Differences in gauge will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage so I strongly recommend making a swatch and adjusting the needle size as necessary. Otherwise, be sure to have extra yarn on hand.
Difficulty level: 3/5
The pattern is easier than Scarflette!
The pattern is fully charted and written out.
