Layered Ruffle Skirt
Elsbeth Lavold’s Silky Wool is a light, lovely yarn that drapes beautifully. For this skirt, I chose to highlight that feature with a series of ruffles worked in various sizes and widths. I worked each ruffle panel separately, and then used a row of single crotchet to embed thin elastic cord neatly and invisibly in the top edges, a step that instantly creates multiple evenly placed folds. I then sewed the ruffles to the skirt.
The skirt’s fit and length are easy to adjust and customize. You can try the piece on as you go and simply work fewer or more increase rounds, knit to your desired length, and add additional ruffles as needed.
