Taking the Moulin Rouge, theater, circus and brothels for his inspiration, Toulouse-Lautrec depicted exotic Parisian nightlife in portraits and sketches of striking originality and power.

In this piece, with its frills and semi-bustle, I wanted to create a sweater which would fit seamlessly into one of the stylish posters, so I’ve used lustrous alpaca yarn and seductive lacy patterning to create a sensuous garment of the night.
