Laurel Hat
This pattern includes a second PDF version that is formatted for knitters with low vision. It has black text, size 22 or larger text in a sans serif font, no italics, no columns, and fully-written directions. The chart is still included but is not needed to work the pattern. Many thanks to Gemma Thompson (gemmabelle here on Rav) and the Accessible Patterns group for their guidance in formatting patterns in a more accessible way.

The Laurel Hat is the companion to the Kalorama Sweater. It builds off of the same stitch motifs, which have been rearranged for a hat. Because the two are so closely related, I wanted to choose a name that was closely related, too – and as luck would have it, one block over from Kalorama Street is Laurel Street, a pretty little road full of old Craftsman homes that runs alongside a quiet park and is home to our community theater.
