This is the official warm-up pattern before Sock Challenge 2025 starts in late May!

Sizes: S (M, L) to fit foot circumferences 7-7.5 (8-8.5, 9-9.5)” or about 18-19 (20-21.5, 23-24) cm

Yarn:
MC: 50 (60, 70)g of fingering weight yarn or about 232 (278, 324)yds or 212 (254, 296)m
CC: 50g of fingering weight yarn or about 232yds (212m)

Needles: US size 1 / 2.25mm. (Size Small will also need a US size 1.5 / 2.5mm for the colorwork portions.)

Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle

Gauge: 36 stitches and 42 rows to 4” (10cm) worked in stranded colorwork

The stitch count of these socks changes throughout the sock, as there are a greater number of stitches in the colorwork portion compared to the stockinette portion. This lets you knit on the same size needle throughout the sock for sizes Medium and Large. (Size Small will use a larger needle for the colorwork).
