We so loved the Lyra Fair Isle vest- that we designed a simpler, chunkier version which would be quick and easy to knit! The perfect extra layer for Autumn/Winter! Knitted in our beautiful Lalland Aran, seamlessly and with some subtle shaping and the classic square neck in a contrast colour (your choice!), Lara is easy to wear for an added cosy layer in Autumn /Winter or to take away the chill in Spring / Summer.
The sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 are designed to fit a chest circumference 1 (85-90cm, 36.5in), 2(90-100cm, 39.5in), 3(100-110cm, 43.5in), 4(110-120cm, 47.5in), 5 (120-130cm, 51in), 6 (130-140cm, 55in), and 7(140-150cm, 59in)
We would recommend measuring yourself with a tape measure around your chest to determine which size will fit you the best.For example, if you measure 90 cm 351⁄2 inches around your chest (or the widest part on your upper body) you should knit a size 1. A size 1 sweater has a bust circumference of 96 cm 373⁄4 ins), which in the given example would give you 5 cm 2 inches of positive ease.
If you would like a more oversize fit, chose a size larger than you would normally do.
Di Gilpin Lalland Aran Lambswool (100% lambswool spun in Scotland, colour blended by Di and finished in Yorkshire). 100 gram balls. Meterage: 150m/164yds to 100gr.
