The Lannister shawl is my version of a banner for the House of Lannister from the popular books and television series “Game of Thrones”. The power of the Lannister Dynasty was borne from their enormous wealth and the “coins” at the base of the shawl are representative of that.

This shawl requires 2 colours of DK yarn in equal quantities. The pattern contains full written instructions with stitch counts, charts, and a tick-sheet. Information is also provided for increasing the size of the shawl and customising to different yarn weights. Please read the notes section for details and check out the finished projects on Ravelry.

Yarn
C1: 100g DK weight yarn (sample used 96g Silky DK which is 211m/231y per 100g/3.5oz col. Cadmus of Thebes gold)
C2: 100g DK weight yarn (sample used 81g Silky DK which is 211m/231y per 100g/3.5oz col. Empire red)

Needles & Notions
5mm (US 8) needles. I like to use 80cm (31 1/2”) circular needles but straight are fine also. 2 stitch markers (optional). Tapestry needle for sewing in ends.

Tension/Gauge
16 sts and 23 rows per 10cm (4”) square over stocking stitch after blocking.

Finished Measurements (Approx. after blocking)
48cm (19”) deep x 160cm (63”) wide.
