This no-name pattern is from 1892 Butterick’s The Art of Knitting, p.12. It looked like relaxed lightning to me. I added 2 rows to the original pattern to separate the lightning bolts. There are 18 pattern rows with a multiple of 4 stitches + 1 stitch. All wrong-side rows are “purl across”.

Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, SSK and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
