Landbase is a term that I use to refer to the world around me.
It is a way of saying landscape- but to be inclusive of more than just myself.

The problem with saying landscape is that you are putting yourself as a viewer of said landscape,
but without acknowledgement of other elements.
It is like saying that the world around you is akin to a landscape painting or photograph.
Something that is to be looked at but not lived in.

When I say landbase I am acknowledging that the space around me includes
animals, plants, a watershed, and unique ecosystems.
Once we garner respect not only for ourselves but to the world around us we will become allies to our landbase.
