The Lammas shawl has one foot in summer and another in autumn. There is simple, airy lace for lightness and the summer season, while the thick rib background is a grounding nod to the coming autumn. The wool and cotton mix yarn also straddles the line between the two and the beginning of harvest season.

YARN Drops Cotton Merino (50% wool, 50% cotton; 120 yds / 110 m – 50 g), colourway 25. 4 balls.
Or approx. 480 yds / 440 m of DK-weight cotton-wool mix yarn. Note, the sample used almost exactly this amount (ie. 4 balls).

NEEDLES
US 2.5 / 3 mm 32–40” / 80–100 cm circular needles.

GAUGE
16 sts x 27 rows = 4” / 10 cm in 3 x 3 rib, after blocking.
