Laharum is a relaxed slouch beanie with a quietly striking colourwork border at the brim; the kind of detail that draws people in for a closer look. The pattern may appear intricate, but it holds a satisfying secret: only one colour is ever worked per round. The illusion of complexity is woven entirely through slipped stitches, making this an approachable project that looks far more ambitious than it is.

Whether you’re new to colourwork or simply want a beautiful knit without the hassle of carrying two yarns at once, Laharum is the pattern you’ll reach for again and again.

Named after a quiet bush location in rural Victoria, Australia, Laharum carries with it a sense of unhurried ease; perfect for a hat you’ll want to wear everywhere.

Construction:
Laharum is worked seamlessly in the round from the double ribbed brim upwards. This slouchie beanie is worked in three different colours; with two different colours forming the stitch pattern around the brim. This stitch pattern is both simple and intuitive using slipped stitches to create a colourwork effect. The crown is decreased dramatically to create a ruched effect.

Please note the smaller sizes have less slouch.

Pattern includes both written and charted instructions.
