This flattering lacy vest accessorizes as a suitable layering piece.
Unusual yet easy construction with a lacy short row pattern provides enough variety to hold a knitter’s interest. Size is determined by the dimensions of the back rectangular piece. Adjustments are clearly explained and accomplished using gauge. The scarf like piece is worked with short rows, again clearly explained. Length of garment either longer or shorter can be adjusted by the cast on of this piece, again determined by gauge, clearly explained in pattern. A worsted wool is the best to enable the lovely drape. Variegated, solid or glitzy will determine the final presentation. Silk or silk blends also would be lovely. As pictured, approx 1100 yds were used and will fit a wide range of sizes. Yarn used is a hand dyed worsted by Lauren Scarpa of Country Yarns in Wallingford, Ct.
