Ladder Sleeve Pullover
New Pattern released today (9/16/14) with added sizes ranging up to 50.5” for body circumference at hip.
Pattern includes a schematic and a video tutorial link.
The pullover has a relaxed fit, boat-neck, shaped bottom and 3/4 length dolman sleeves. An openwork ‘ladder-like’ panel adorns the sleeves. The ladder is an easy two row repeat worked over 4 sts.
It is knit sideways (from cuff to cuff) in one piece. Circular needles are used to accommodate the large number of stitches. Increases are worked to shape the sleeves and stitches are cast on to create the pullover’s sides. At the shoulder the neckline is created by splitting the work into front and back panels which are then worked at the same time and re-joined at the opposite shoulder. Everything is then reversed to shape the pullover down to the opposite cuff.
A note about gauge: When I swatched for this project I was getting 12 sts and 18 rows to 4 inches. The finished sweater is 12 sts and 17 rows to 4 inches. It will stretch a bit for you too.
A note about sizing: I am 5’4”, have a 37” bust and 35” hips. I am wearing the size small. The sides of the pullover hit above the fullest part of my hips and there is plenty of ease in the chest because of the dolman sleeves. This is a very stretchy, soft and comfortable spring top
