This big shawl is constructed by casting on 4 stitches and working symmetrical increases from that point on. The combination of both stitch patterns, loop stitch and lace stitch, generates a fabric that varies between tight and light textures. This, together with the added color rhythm, ends up creating a harmonic pattern and a jazzy shawl.

The pattern is easily modified to make a smaller or bigger version, making it very easy to adjust to the amount of yarn you have available. For the sample, we used the complete skeins, turning it into a perfect project to completely use up those favorite skeins you have been saving for something special.

Finished Measurement
69 inches (175 cms) from side to side and 31.5 inches (80 cms) from top to bottom at deepest point (after blocking).

Materials
Malbrigo Mechita, Fingering, 100% superwash merino wool, 100 grs. / 420 yards per skein.
1 skein of color A (shown in Storm), 1 skein of color B (shown in Plomo) and 1 skein of color C (shown in Teal Feather)

Needles and Tools
3 mm / 2 or 3 US, knitting needles.
1 stitch marker
1 tapestry needle

Gauge
32 stitches, 45 rows to 4 inches (10 cms) in loop stitch, after blocking.
Gauge is not crucial for this project. However, changes might result in a different yardage requirement.

Techniques
Casting on, knit and purl stitches, loop stitches, yarn over increasing, increasing, binding off.
