The color and braided cables of this vest remind me of a frozen river in winter. La Moelle is the old French name for the river in my county.

Construction Notes
The pattern starts with a hem on smaller needles. The
directions include hip, waist, and bust shaping with
optional short rows at the bust. Short rows shape the
shoulders which are grafted together except for the
cable edging. All the stitches along the back of the
neckline are kept live. They are finished by continuing
the cable edging with an unusual but simple bind off.
The only seaming is the folded hem.
