Notions: Stitch markers, 2 cable needles (CN), row counter, scissors, tape measure, stitch holders, tapestry needle, locking markers if using Japanese short rows.
Techniques used: Increases and decreases, cables, backwards loop cast-on, Japanese short rows, knitting in the round.
Notes: The vest is worked seamlessly from the top down. Back neck stitches are cast-on, stitches are increased for shoulders and the neckline is shaped using short rows, then worked straight down to underarms, shaping the armhole with increases. Stitches for each front shoulder are picked up along the back shoulders and worked separately with increases shaping the front neckline down to underarms. Back and front are joined together and continued straight in one piece down to the “slit”, then front and back are worked flat separately down to the hem. Stitches for neckband and armholes are picked up and 2x2 rib worked in the round to desired width.
