About the pattern

The name of this asymmetrical rounded triangle shawl is inspired by Kyanite crystals, which come in various shades of blue, with elegant elongated crystals.

The distribution of the eyelets along the entire body of this elongated shawl also reminds of the inclusions in this beautiful gem.

The shawl grows from one point, with increases on one edge and decreases on the other edge.

The eyelets start and progress along one edge with decreases, while new columns are formed along the other edge.

The pattern repeat is easy and can be repeated as many times as you want for a small scarf or a large, cozy shawl.

You can use any weight of yarn, from lace to worsted, to get shawls of different thicknesses.

This pattern is part of a set of shawl patterns with a mineral theme.

Skill level

Intermediate, due to working with increases, decreases, eyelets and simple stitches.

Shape and measurements

This shawl can be made larger or smaller, depending on the row you stop on or the yarn weight and hook size.

For a larger shawl, use thicker yarn with the recommended hook size, or continue working more pattern repeats.

The sample made in the mentioned yarn has 150 rows and measures 180 cm or about 70” across the outer edge and 40 cm or 16” in width, after blocking.
