This ethnographic “best mitten” from the Kuldiga region of the District of Kurzeme, Latvia begins with Latvian fringes at the base of the cuff followed by half braids interspersed with knit and purl rows. The upper mitten is knit in two colors throughout and requires a total of six colors.
