Kohaku is a toe-up sock featuring a chevron line on the toe, elegant cables, and lace patterns. The main chart has two options. The short-row heel is worked with a contrasting color or main color; gaps and holes are minimal in this short-row method. Because of the mini gusset in the sole, a larger heel can be made than a typical short-row heel.
Directions are written for the magic loop method with circular needles. Stitch pattern is charted only. Video tutorials are included.

Note: Kohaku is the Japanese word for amber.

Kohaku (琥珀)はつま先のシェブロンのラインに、ケーブルとレースを組み合わせた模様が特徴のつま先から編む靴下です。メインの模様編みは2種類から選べ、ショートロウ・ヒールはメインカラーまたは配色で編みます。引き返し編みは段差や穴が目立ちにくいタイプの技法が使われています。かかとの底に小さなまちが付いているので、一般的なショートロー・ヒールよりも大きいかかとができます。
編み方は輪針のマジックループ式に合わせて説明されています。模様編みはチャート(編み図)で掲載、動画解説リンク付き。
