Knitted Port Pillow
Port-a-Cath or Catheter Port pillow to protect medical ports from seatbelts. Size is recommended by the Levine Cancer Institute. My husband has been using a sewn version for some time and it’s very welcome, especially after infusions.
Pillow is knitted flat, ties are added during knitting using e-cast on and basic cast off. Then item is folded in half, sides are sewn, piece is stuffed with poly-fill on open side, then pillow is sewn shut.
Sizing allows pillow to be easily tied onto a seatbelt and positioned.
Could be easily adapted to knit in the round.
Items needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (likely not a full skien)
- Knitting needles
- Tapestry needle
- Poly-fill (a good handful)
