Knitted Gnome Nativity
A modern take on the traditional Nativity set. These are knitted in 4 ply/fingering, but the pattern works for any yarn thickness. Use the scraps of yarn left over from other projects, or buy a set of minis specially.
The curly hair and beards can either be knitted in your favourite knitted loop stitch while you are knitting the gnome, or can be added after the gnome is stuffed, using a crocheted loop stitch, Turkish Knot stitch, or any other embroidered loop stitch. (There are plenty of good videos on line showing these.) These loops can then be left as loops, or cut.
These are not toys and should only be handled by children with an adult present.
The video accompanying the pattern shows the version of Turkey knot stitch I used and various other specific techniques used. It does NOT show the techniques you can google.
