Knitted Gaiters
by Miss Watts
This pattern is from a section of the newspaper called “The Work Table” by Miss Watts the author of “The Illustrated Knitting, Netting, and Crochet Book”.
The pattern is on page 86.
The size given is for a lady. These gaiters are very comfortable to draw over the ankles when the wearer wishes to walk out in shoes, worn in change with boots, or to keep the feet warm in going to evening parties. They may be black or brown.
The requisite materials are 1½ oz. of fleecy and four No. 10 needles [US3/3.25mm]; ivory or bone will be found most convenient.
(Editor’s note: The closest modern equivalent to fleecy would be a DK or slight worsted weight yarn.)
